We spent some time with each set of grandchildren in April 2009.

At Fort McHenry in Baltimore, Evan and Angelina are sitting on a cannon. Fort McHenry is famous for withstanding an enemy bombardment 1814. That is when the lyrics of the Star Spangled Banner were written. However, these cannons are not that old -- I can't remember for sure, but I think they are 1860s vintage cannons.

Oliver is two and a half, Evan is four and Angelina is eight.

Oliver liked the cannons that were lower so that he could get on and off by himself.

At the aquarium, the highlight was the dolphin show. That's a dolphin swimming rather fast in the pool behind them.

The four cousins collected a lot of Easter eggs. Most of them were plastic eggs with candy in them.

At home there was another Easter egg hunt, this time indoors.

This is after Easter. The girls are playing outside with fuzzy plastic balls.

It is amazing how much fun children can have with simple toys.
|
|
|
It is fun watching them have a good time.
Note that in mid-April warm jackets are still required in Minnesota, and the grass hasn't yet started to grow in the new season.
