We spent Christmas with Samantha and Kate.

Samantha is singing holiday songs with everyone else in school.

At home the tedium of waiting for Christmas is helped by some activity books.

Everyone went to Grandpa and Grandma's for Christmas Eve. The cousins get along very well.

Back home on Christmas morning, the first thing the girls found was the horse that could be ridden around the house.

Opening the gifts stretched out most of the morning.
|

Later in the day Kate had figured out how to ride around the house on the horse.
|
|
|
A couple of days later when we looked out the rear windows we saw that the trees were coated in a thin layer of ice.
|
|
|
The white on the trees, the blue sky and the blue shaddows on the snow make an impressive scene, particularly when looking out the window of a warm house.

|
Samantha enjoyed sledding several days in front of the house.
|
|
|
Kate slid down the hill several times but didn't have as much patience. Perhaps Samantha's long legs made it far easier for her to walk back to the top of the slope -- the snow was much more than a foot deep.
