Somewhere near here we crossed the watershed divide where on one side the rain and melting snow flow into the Missouri River, then the Mississippi River and then into the Gulf of Mexico. Water north of the divide flows into the St. Mary River, which ends up in the Saskatchewan River, Hudson Bay and the Labrador Sea. |

Looking up St. Mary Lake toward the mountains. The color of the water is amazingly blue. It is reflecting the deep blue sky, but we learned later that glacial silt in the water makes the water extra blue. |
