Wednesday there was a howling gale blowing off of the sea all day. We stayed indoors, talking, reading, playing games and eating. On Thursday two of us walked up Ben Alligin. There is car parking where the road crosses the burn. The excellent path quickly emerges from the trees and heads up the open slope.
