The Gaelic name on the map suggests that this glen was known as the valley of the MacNoble clan. Coire Mhic Nobaill appears to mean the hollow of the MacNobles, while Abhainn Coire Mhic Nobaill seems to mean the stream that flows through the valley of Clan MacNoble.
