This puzzled me. Looking down from the path there was a substantial stream flowing into the lake but the path we were walking did not cross a stream. I wanted to go down and see where the water was coming from, but the slope was too steep here. So I went back a few hundred feet to a place where I could slowly descend over boulders to the shore.
