About six-tenths of a mile northeast of the bottoming stones detected by probing on the high slope east of the Clyde, bottoming stones were found beneath the grass just before the small stream in this picture. At this site the stream is easy to cross, but less than 100 feet downstream, over my left shoulder as I snapped this photo, this stream falls into a steep-walled ravine. Some of the maps call the stream Maregill Burn.
Finding apparent bottoming stones at this site suggests a northeast bearing for the route east of the Clyde.
